Privacy policy

1. Who we are
younisconvert ("younisconvert", "we", "us") operates younisconvert.com, providing online file conversion, compression and ID photo sizing tools. younisconvert is the data controller for the personal data described in this notice, meaning we decide why and how it is processed. This policy explains what we collect and why.
2. Your files
Image conversions happen entirely inside your browser — those files are never uploaded to us. Where a format requires server processing, the file is processed in memory and deleted immediately afterwards. We never sell or share your file contents.
3. Data we collect and why
- IP address and device signals — to enforce the single free conversion and prevent abuse.
- Account data — email address, password hash and optional name, phone and country if you register.
- Conversion metadata — file name, type and size (not the file itself) to show your history.
- Support messages — the content of emails you send us, to answer you.
- Payment data — handled by Paddle; we only receive the subscription status and country.
4. Legal basis for processing
- Performance of a contract — creating and running your account, delivering conversions, and managing your subscription.
- Legitimate interests — securing the Service, preventing abuse and fraud, enforcing the free quota, and improving the product.
- Consent — non-essential cookies, personalised advertising and any marketing emails; you may withdraw consent at any time.
- Legal obligation — retaining records where law requires it.
5. Cookies and advertising
We use essential cookies for sign-in and quota, and Google AdSense to display advertising. Google and its partners may use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits. You can opt out of personalised advertising in Google Ads Settings or via your browser cookie settings.
6. Translation
Pages can be translated with the Google Translate widget. When you use it, Google receives the page content and standard request data under its own privacy policy.
7. Who we share data with
- Service providers and subprocessors — hosting, database, analytics and support tools.
- Paddle.com Market Ltd — our Merchant of Record, for the sale of the product, subscription management, payments, tax compliance and invoicing. Paddle processes your payment details directly; we never see your card number.
- Professional advisers — legal and accounting, where necessary.
- Authorities — where required by law.
8. Security
We apply appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your data, including encryption in transit (HTTPS), encryption at rest for our database, hashed passwords, row-level access controls so each account can only read its own records, and restricted administrative access.
9. Your rights
Depending on your country you may request access to, correction of, deletion of, restriction of or portability of your personal data, object to processing, or withdraw consent. Contact privacy@younisconvert.com and we will respond within one month. Deleting your account removes your history and account data. If you are in the UK or EEA you may also complain to your local supervisory authority.
10. International transfers
Our providers may process data outside your country, including outside the UK/EEA. Where that happens we rely on adequacy decisions or standard contractual clauses as safeguards.
11. Retention
Account and billing records are retained while your account is active and for as long as legally required afterwards, then deleted or anonymised.
